Changes & Benefits

By making amendments to the previously consented scheme, the revised proposal makes significant improvements to design quality and creates an enhanced sense of place for our future residents.

  • Taking into account the need for more affordable housing in Greenwich, the re-design will increase the availability of family homes in affordable rent from 20 to 38 dwellings. This will increase the number of family sized homes, whilst maintaining the overall affordable housing provision across the site

  • Introduction of two separate means of escape, in the form of two escape stairs. This provides the opportunity to ensure other key fire safety aspects are included, such as fire-fighting and evacuation lifts.

  • Improving the design of wheelchair accessible homes, to increase the floorspace so all accessible homes will meet Greenwich Standard requirements, ensuring a consistency across all homes.

  • Significant enhancements to resident experience with improvements to privacy, daylight exposure and an increase of play space to 1,081 m² from 938 m² as well as the introduction of additional planting and landscaping.
