Overview of Proposals
Our vision is to create a new sustainable neighbourhood for our residents and also fit the needs of the community. Our proposals achieve this by reviewing and updating the consented scheme against the new fire regulations, which gave us the opportunity to revisit and improve parts of the overall design. The proposals include minor changes to the massing to allow for an uplift in the total number of homes whilst maintaining the affordable housing offer of over 50%, increased on site play space, amendments to internal layouts, as well as the improvements to the external appearance of the buildings via a series of small changes to the façades.
Key re-design improvements include:
Increased numbers of affordable, family sized homes
Overall uplift in the total number of new homes by 35, bringing total to 258 homes
Bringing the scheme up to date to meet newly introduced fire safety regulations
Providing larger, compliant, wheelchair accessible and adaptable homes
Removing long corridors and adding more dual aspect homes
Limited potential overlooking and privacy issues between homes
Significant improvements to façade design and use of materials to respond to local context
Increased play space and shared amenity
More prominent and clear entrances
